Civil Litigator
4 years + (Prince George, BC)
We are seeking an mid-level litigation associate to work on commercial litigation, including insurance, construction, estate litigation and other general civil litigation files. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who is seeking a balanced work-life career in an affordable, community-oriented area.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in a litigation practice and in drafting pleadings, speaking to chambers applications, and appearing at trial would be preferred. As appropriate, our litigation associates have conduct of their own files and assist senior lawyers with various aspects of files.
You should be able to practice in a variety of areas, manage files from beginning to end and work well with members of our valued support staff. If you are self‐motivated, possess sound judgment, a solid work ethic, and good interpersonal skills we encourage you to apply.
We seek: Someone who takes pride in their work. You are an organized, multi-tasker, who takes an interest in our clients’ disputes. You also possess:
- 4-6 years of practice in BC
- Ability to work well in a team environment and with all members of the firm
- Solid expertise and credibility relative to year of call
- Strong interpersonal and client service skills
- Interest, ability or experience in developing new business
Bringing an existing client base, although an asset, is not a requirement. The right candidate would ultimately have the opportunity to grow their practice.
We are on a compensation model based on year of call, comparable with market, with a competitive bonus/incentive model that rewards associates who exceed billable hour expectations. Compensation is $70,000 – $130,000.
